Basically people who have their email software to check email more often than once every 15 minutes are actually LESS PRODUCTIVE and cost businesses time and money…
Email IS A DISCTRACTION from doing your daily tasks / other work… switching between tasks takes time. Reading and responding to email should be a scheduled event - unless your whole job is reading and responding to email of course… like some of us here in customer support!
Unless you absolutely have to check your email every 1-5 minutes (are you a stock broker / trader?) you will get more work done if you have your email checks around every 15-60 minutes…
To change this ask your IT Admin or go to Tools > Accounts in most email clients to set your “check email every X minutes” option…
If you have staff it would be a good idea to check their settings as well…

Hi all - just a quick note to say that while we haven’t written any new posts on our company blog in awhile (whoa - 2 years! - whooosh time flies) - rest assured that we are still very much alive and kicking here behind the scenes!
We’ve basically been busy building websites and maintaining our directories with new clients and updating existing client entries, as well as working hard to grow our network with online advertising and new partnerships.
At the moment we are looking at working directly with local web designers via The Australian Websdesigners Network to bring more business listing to our directories and improving user experiences with our site.
At the moment there are still many categories without members / website links and we are looking to fill those with direct marketing efforts early 2009.
After 8 years we’ve come a long way and are happy to say that many of our very first clients are STILL going strong! Getting in early before competitors has it’s advantage yes?
