Community Internet is taking off in the USA.

“Soon all media — TV, telephone, radio and the Web — will be delivered via the Internet over a broadband connection. New wireless and wired technologies allow local governments, public-private partnerships, schools and community groups to offer faster, cheaper and more reliable Internet service.

Hundreds of Community Internet and municipal broadband projects have sprouted up across the country.”

Wow - it’s finally happened! after many years of being an ad supported browser - OPERA (www.opera.com) internet browser and alternative to Microsoft Internet Explorer is 100% FREE without ads of any kind!

This has happened due to the help of Google and a deal made to include Google as the search engine of choice within the browser itself and revenue shared from advertising as a result of those searches.

We here at the Streets have been using Opera as browser of choice for over 5 years and it’s great to see this happening for those guys and gals who put Opera together for all of us…

CyanWeb Solutions now offers Google AdWords campaign management services. We are extremely excited about this service as we know how well it works!

Some of the biggest growth on the Internet has been the takeup of online advertising known as “SEM” or “search engine marketing” services.

These are the “sponsored” links that you see when searching online in places like Google or Yahoo!

SEM drives targeted leads to your website, adding valuable traffic to your website statistics.

Clients only pay per click - so this is a result driven service and return on investment can be tracked with full campaign statistics supplied online.

SEM has proven to be highly effective for many of our clients, and we manage over 75,000 keywords for both small businesses and global corporations.

If you would like us to show you how Search Engine Marketing and Google AdWords works (with real world client examples) please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Switching Browsers

Bloged in Jonathan's Blog, Tech Talk, Business by admin Sunday June 26, 2005

No doubt by now most people have heard about the Firefox web browser as the alternative to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer - though there have always been alternatives.

Check out Browse Happy for a look at some safer alternative browsers - including Firefox.

“Why should I switch browsers? ” you may ask…

basically over the years many people’s computers have been comprimised and infected by viruses and trojans that take advantage of some on Internet Explorer’s security flaws.

Unsecured Internet Explorer browsers are often hijacked by malware and pop up creators. Hackers can access your computer via unsafe Active X controls being run through your browser on improperly configured systems.

The older your version of Internet Explorer is the more vulnerable your computer may be. You should be running version 6.0.29 as of the date on this post. To check this open the Internet Explorer web browser and click top menu Help > About selection and check the version number…

We personally use the Opera internet browser and have done so for many years.

Our business has never ever been hit by the email viruses and trojan horses that plague so many Internet Explorer and Outlook Express users. We made an informed desicion many years ago to switch browsers to Opera.
